Philatelic collection

Philatelic collection of PTT museum contains both domestic and foreign postage stamps.
Shortly after the release of the first postage stamp in England, in 1840, other counties also introduced postage stamps, as insured items, and postal administrations began, gradually, to give great attention to fine art and graphic design of postage stamps as well as to themes and motivs on them. Postage stamp became national landmark of the country and means through which to present the successes and achievements in the field of culture, science, arts, sports, and information about historical events and natural beauty of a country.
