Stamps portraying acting legends presented to their family members

Today, March 26, 2021 in the PTT Museum, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, presented commemorative postage stamps to family members and descendants of great actors and actresses, who are portrayed within the new commemorative philatelic edition "Doyens of Serbian Acting", which the Post of Serbia releases today in cooperation with the Association of Dramatic Artists of Serbia.
Đorđević also handed the philatelic set of this edition to the actress and journalist, Stevanka Češljarov, as a sign of gratitude for her personal contribution to the Serbian theatre. The ceremony was attended by the new Director of the PTT Museum, Viktor Lazić, the new Director of the Working Unit “Srbijamarka”, Adam Sofronijević, and the Secretary of the Association of Dramatic Artists of Serbia, Branislava Atanacković.
These postage stamps include portraits of eight of our acting legends, famous and beloved actresses and actors – Ljiljana Krstić (1919–2001), Tatjana Lukjanova (1923–2003), Radmina Andrić (1934–2018), Miena Dravić (1940–2018), Miodrag Radovanović Mrgud (1929–2019), Mihailo Miša Janketić (1938–2019), Marko Nikolić (1946–2019), and Predrag Ejdus (1947–2018), and this philatelic series is being released on the occasion of the World Theatre Day - March 27.
“The postage stamp as one of the symbols of national culture speaks about the values, heritage and ideas of a society, the motifs are carefully chosen, and our stamps are characterized by hand-made drawings and paintings, for which they are especially appreciated in the country and worldwide. As stamps remain forever, like the artistic achievements and works of our great actors, they will preserve the memory of them for future generations”, said the Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, and thanked the Association of Dramatic Artists of Serbia.
The edition contains eight stamps, four First Day Covers (FDC), and a commemorative seal. Author of the stamps is the academic painter Marina Kalezić, MA, while the professional cooperation in the realization of the edition was provided by the Association
